I know they will be missed. After summing up the readings blogging and reading content was the focus that was addressed. This is obviously the meat and potatoes your blog.

If you don't have good content you don't have readers. You will never get your word-of-mouth out, and your messages will never be conveyed to your audience. Basically, you should not waste your time with a blog if you are not going concentrate on your post and give enough mass for people to reply with.

I have been working greatly on my content substance recently, giving enough room for thought and opinion for me and my readers. Also, you want bloggers that use social media in their everyday lives to see your blogs, you do not want them to look at yours for a second and then call you a "wannabe blogger" Your reputation would be terminated! No one would take you seriously.

I hope to take what I have learned an only improve my blog and hopefully I will have more than 13 followers and I will be able to thank the information taken in from the lesson of social media outlet's.

Obama the 44th President of the United states! Week 10

Barack Obama, a 47-year-old first-term senator from Illinois, shattered more than 200 years of history Tuesday night by winning election as the first African-American president of the United States.

A crowd of nearly a quarter of million people jammed Grant Park and the surrounding area in Chicago, where Obama addressed the nation for the first time as its president-elected at midnight November 7, 2008. Hundreds of thousands and more! — Mayor Richard Daley said, "he would not be surprised if a million Chicagoans jammed the streets"

“If there is anyone out there who doubts that America is a place where anything is possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer,” Obama declared as our second democratic president in the past eight years. I have high hopes for our nation in the upcoming year. I hope no matter what your view of the election we can all pull together as America the free and make good things happen. What makes me mostly mad about the week before finals is "dead" week. I feel this term is not appropriate, more like "live" week, anyone? I have more things to work on and to get ready for finals week. I have more on my plate now then I think I have had all quarter?!?! This is not cool, and this is the week to prepare for finals.

In the light of this event I propose a real dead week. One week before finals no class, nothing due, just time to study. This would meet my "dead" week requirements and give the appropriate amount of time to prepare last minute items and study for finals. Any thought to this? When thinking of how I was going to try and convey this message to the world I thought, why not make my video as real, simple and self explanatory as my message is. It doesn't need to be fancy or try to make you feel guilty but to reach the audience. Oh yea, I wasn't going to put my goof up in the video but I thought a little humor never hurt anybody. This season was a very anticipated one because we have promise for the conference title and the fresh new style of our a new leader.

Almost seems like a win win situation, doesn't it? This is probably the most optimistic I can be at this point because things aren't starting off as great as anticipated.

My schedule this quarter does not fit his practice periods at all, and I have missed several days from being sick and the National Conference this past week. Coach also doesn't take kindly to excuses either so I am DEFINITELY on his bad side by now.

I really want to gain his confidence and show him the kind of athlete I can be. Lets be honest, I am not your national qualifier but I am a hard worker and take pride in that fact.

I am not sure what I can do but do my best. Week 9

GO VOTE!! Tomorrow is the big day! Recently, Barack Obama has been radiating confidence and John McCain has been displaying the power of a true underdog. On Monday as the presidential candidates reached for the finish line of a two-year marathon with a quick end to this long campaign across battlegrounds from East to West, through the land of the free.

I can't believe it is time! I hope everyone is going to vote because it is very important to our futures as Americans. Aside from my personal opinion, both McCain and Obama are trying to make a change so get out there a vote. Our voices need to be heard and the end of the end of this campaign is a new beginning for us all.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://prwithrp.blogspot.com/2008/11/go-vote-week-9.html' title='Go Vote!!! Most would think typically things like tuition, food, or class requirements. As I was walking trying to block the ice piercing wind from hitting my face, then rubbing my hands together to try and warm them up. Hitting me like a door in my face it was obvious, area. Ohio Northern is in the middle of a corn fields in north western Ohio with no hills and no buildings. This makes the wind stronger and the temperature windshield feel so much colder!!! I am hoping with in the next couple of years maybe more construction and industrialization will consume the flat ground of Ada and create some sort a blocker for the hurtful wind. But I must say I can not completely agree with all the strategic that Scott stresses. Or at least I can say my marketing book, “Essentials of Marketing: A Marketing Strategy Planning Approach”, by William D. Perreault, Jr. Joseph P. Cannon, E. Jerome McCarthy does not completely agree.

I am being pulled in both directions because as a learning student I feel both authors are credible reliable forces but do I disagree or agree is the question? Scott sees the approach that the four Ps of marketing-product, place, price and promotion is not the most important objectives in have in a great product or service.

Scott emphasizes that you need to know your buyers first. From my marketing perspective I feel that you have to have a strategic marketing and PR plan put together before you start to segment your publics and creating your target markets. With this I guess my decision is obvious. I think I am going with my a marketing standpoint on this one, sorry Scott.

PRSSA 2008 Nation Convention, week 8

October 24-28 I had the privilege of attending the 2008 PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) National Conference in Detroit Michigan. ONU’s chapter was one of a hundred different Chapters from all over the country. This was an awesome experience. I have gained so much crucial information for the PR and Communications world in just the past weekend. I thought that I was very grounded in my basic knowledge of Public Relations, but after this weekend I feel the most confident and credible as far as my knowledge thus this far on my way to becoming a PR professional. I am just invigorated thinking of how much I have grown in one weekend!!! I was given the opportunity to network with some of the most renowned PR or communication business professionals in today’s society: Ofield Dukes, Ofield Dukes & Associates, Craig Newmark, Founder of Craigslist, Bob Lutz, Vice Chairman of Global Products, General Motors, Penelope Trunk, Author of “Brazen Careerist: The New Rules for Success “and many more. I feel so much more aware of where my interests lie because of all the different speakers and sessions I was able to attend. I have a good taste of whether I really think I want to go corporate or agency, and where I would like to intern. I received so many different business cards any internship I want is in the palm of my hand. I encourage anyone with any sort of PR, marketing, communications, journalism, etc. to take part of PRSSA. It is more than beneficial to meet new people and gain resources that could influence your future career.

"Viral High" Week 7

This viral marketing is becoming a pretty big networking strategy. It is efficient and cheap for you to get your word across out on web for the right people to see it. But how do you get the right people to see it? How do you gain good credibility. Personal I think how many followers or friends you have is just like a high school popularity contest. I think many intelligent people have a lot to say but not the right people seeing it. Should I become a blog creeper? Look for those "big named" people, no this isn't like me. The driving forces that Gillin gives: declining response rate, technology developments, demographic shifts, and customer preference. With this I see where if you follow these to the best of your ability that can achieve you good insight, is it just by chance that the right person gets a whiff of idea. You can't pay for cred because this is so cheap and I can't win a popularity contest. Maybe because I am a novice I don't see the outcome to be a good one. Obviously if not done right, good results are not obtainable. I feel like I am answering my own questions here. A little help? anyone have first hand success or failure they can share with me?

I would greatly appreciate it!

"Palin on SNL" WEEK 7

So I told myself no more politics but after the escapade on SNL, Oct 18th a little after midnight. Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin once again proved herself a ratings magnet with the help from comedians with her Saturday Night Live guest spot pulling in the shows highest numbers in 14 years, according to early overnight results from Nielsen. The Oct. 18 shows 10.7 rating put it 161 percent over the same week last year and made it SNL's most-watched episode it ranked for the entire week below only prime time behemoths Dancing With the Stars and CSI. This is one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. I told myself I was done commenting on politics because I have learned to keep them to myself. But after this performance, It is a must. I couldn't believe the appearance. This was a great PR move on her behalf. By braving the TV studio's that night, she gained a big brownie point in my book.

Watch this!http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2008/10/palin-on-snl-sa.html

I hate being sick! week 7

Bronchitis, Strep throat, mono? All these wonderful cold and flu season goodies on the way from yours truly. So, I have been sick for the past two weeks. I have been taking anti-biotic after anti-biotic. Nothing seems to be working. Obviously I have a virus nothing along the lines of bacterial.

Even a non science, PR geek like myself is aware of this, I wish someone would inform the "doctors" at the wonderful ONU health center. Honestly my health is more important than their process of elimination. Do some test on me or something?! Gezzz! It is so frustrating trying to be a student, during mid-term exams coughing up my insides and taking medicine that doesn't help!!? Yes it is as bad as it seems.

On top of everything else, I have to get on track and almost get ahead of my classes because Friday morning I leave for the national PR conference in Detroit Michigan. This is something I do not want to be sick for or be behind on my schoolwork. For my sake, we have got to do something about the crappy health care at this university. From the debate last week to the 25 days we have left till voting, I am afraid of what crunch time campaigning the candidates are going to do. Especially in the battleground states like Ohio. The race is so tight, making the opposite candidate look his worst has become the primary goal. I want to hear what is going to be best for our country regardless of whom it is from. If they start preaching about there goals and not how crappy the other will be if elected. This is the time to start reaching your public. Lets grow up and really concentrate on whats important!!

“PRSSA Luncheon!” week 6

On Wednesday October 8th, I attended my first PRSSA luncheon. Even though I was nervous and anticipated the experience, the outcome was substantial and the rewards were well worth the time taken. The lunch setting was very petite with a professional touch. The people were well put together and excited to make new acquaintances, this made communication very laid back and comfortable to engage.

I began my luncheon by taking a chance and separating myself from those that I knew. I had the pleasure of sharing my experience with PR and Communication professionals with OhioHealth Systems. OhioHealth is a family of not-for-profit, faith-based hospitals and healthcare organizations serving patients in central Ohio.

As I watched and observed, first hand what It is like to be apart of these different organizations quest to try and gain understanding and educate themselves on how to better their approach to reaching different target markets. The objective is to have the new or best way to advertise these varied segments of publics. I almost found the afternoon humorous and eye-opening, no disrespect. After all of these stressful PR and Marketing courses I am required to take on how to reach your public and have the right message reach the right people for improvement in business, customer needs and profit, it is still a learning experience once in the organization world.

This seems like it would be very apparent from the beginning of my college career but only first hand did I realize that no matter how much information you obtain there will ALWAYS be more information to obtain and learn. So, In conclusion I will always be a student learning and one day I am going to get paid to learn and teach others! Yes!

"Hit or Miss" week 6

I usually pride myself on my healthy and nutritious eating habits, not only for physical appeal but for the over all health of my body. This sounds great, but what sounds even better is a double chocolate cake with extra chocolate frosting and sprinkles!

I think everyone can agree that with healthy habits there comes weaknesses and mine is chocolate. Maybe yours is not exercising everyday or eating Doritos instead of an apple. While searching on PRWEEK, I stumbled onto an interesting little article that caught my attention.

The article, “HIT or Miss”, by Nicky Forrest, MD, PHIPPS PR, was about consumer’s accusing the supermarkets for advertising Junk food. In the article it is expressed that the National Consumer Council was putting the blame on the supermarkets for this advertising and campaigning against it. This reminds me of the cases against fast food restaurants and the attack they receive from the clinically obese publics blaming them for there illness. Nicky make a great comment to this statement, “Personally, my reaction to this campaign was one of irritation - I'm fed up with the media trying to blame supermarkets for obesity. I've also had enough of 'big bad profiteering' supermarkets stories - aren't supermarkets just giving the consumers what they want? The NCC campaign will irritate those who believe obesity is an issue of education, not governmental control. That aside, the campaign certainly hit the spot when it comes to blanket coverage.
HIT.

I do not completely agree; aside from the media pointing fingers the consumers themselves make it clear what they want and what will satisfy their needs. So, I think trying to use there wants and needs against them is however contradicting and manipulating from the business aspect.

I also think that being hypocritical about the situation is wrong on the consumers’ part. It almost seems that the public is trying to deny their desire for the products and should not blame the product producers or businesses for achieving not to achieve.
Hit and Miss.

If you would like to see read it for yourself feel free! All of the techniques are advancing and changing variations of our internet community. Everything is about being faster, quicker, and easier. Nobody has time anymore to take fifteen minutes out of their day to use the newest features of your favorite search engines. Googling your companies “name” every five minutes to see what is being written about your firm or organization is not really what I want to be doing with my time. Sometime these tools are tricky but one of the most helpful things that I have read in this book yet is about trackbacks.

A Trackback is used for communication between blogs. If you have this trackback protocol tool on your blog you will be notified of similar displays summarizing links, entries, or blogs. This makes conversation or discussion over similar topics easier to assess and follow.

This is so helpful to those who need information and other points of view now with little work. In this field especially, trying to discuss on similar issues without belonging to this network or that one, you just want to know who is talking about whom now and you want to be alerted. This is such a stress and time relieving tool in my opinion. I hate getting on the internet to search up peoples views of what they agree or disagree with. If it just comes to me when stated, I can use it when I need it.

I think this is a tool that I need to have in my tool box all the time. This also supports the popularity of my blog because those who are notified of me will be more frequently viewing my blog. This is also something I need because the number of views on my blog isn’t the most attractive number.

Podcasting vs. Radio, week 5

I don't really like to consider myself old fashion or traditional in most cases. I would portray myself as new, modern and fun! So, when reading about podcasting for this week in , "The New Influencers", I figured it would be something I would presume to have interest in, but on the contrary I am completely bias. When reading up on podcasting, it seemed all right as far as developing into a powerful channel of influenced opportunity for marketers and for people with opinions to share. This sounds familiar, isn't this blogging? There are so many mainstream tools for business communication. Evolution of this technological era is going to far. I like driving in my car and turning on the radio. I like watching the TV and getting the six o' clock news. But now with podcasting I just need to download it and play it in my car, or when I am on vacation. In my opinion what is the point for a radio anymore? They should just remove them from cars all together. There are so many choices, standards, options, cables and channels that the average consumer can't even keep up with it all.
I don't mean to be so critical but as I am on my quest to become a PR practitioner and professional, I just can't seem to understand why traditional seems so bad anymore. When things become to advanced there will be no need for the actually practice of research and public relations because the Internet will just do it for you.

How much Booty does Johnny Depp see? week 5

Just to reassure you before you read this entry, I can assure you there is nothing provocative about this booty that Depp is seeing. Johnny Depp is known for being a extravagant actor but currently most adored for his role as "captain Jack Sparrow" in "The Pirates of the Caribbean series." I am sure it is obvious in the entertainment world that Johnny is one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood. Would you believe if I told you with the upcoming fourth Pirates film he should exceed the first ranking place.
The staggering sum $56 million is the largest upfront payment in film history.
I detest the fact that Pirates could go on without him, it just wouldn't be the same without him, so they were more than willing to smash Depp with a pretty price again. In my opinion he's been the star of the show every time so it is so worth it. Also, with the rate the box office has been treating the series, I am sure it will be money well spent. Although that is a lot of "booty" for one pirate, would you see the films without the great Captain Jake Sparrow?

Bad News Bears. ONU VS. Muskingum. week 5

I have no news but bad news for the bears. On Saturday Muskingum traveled to Dial-Roberson stadium to take on the bears in their fourth game this season. The players have been keeping their heads high and trying not to have any doubts for the upcoming games, even though the previous games have not gone according to plan.

Muskingum made three northern fumbles turn into a 21-0 lead over the bears. Northern tried to recover with two touchdowns from Brook Crawford and one from Brent Donely. Muskingum held on for a 35-21 Ohio Athletic Conference football victory over the Bears on Saturday afternoon. The Polar Bears are 0-4, while Muskingum has improved to 2-2, 1-2.

Efforts by the Bears hopefully can be restored this Saturday against Heidelberg University. This is a win the bears need to bring back the game. This is a touchy subject for me because my boyfriend for over a year now is a Senoir this year. Wide Reciever Brock England. He has taken the losses to heart and does not want his last year to be the worst of his four years.

I hope this weeks upcoming game will give him a boost of confidents.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://prwithrp.blogspot.com/2008/10/bad-news-bears-onu-vs-muskingum-week-5.html' title='Bad News Bears. Hm. Before reading chapter six in Citizen Marketers, I would have never have known that memes means what it does currently. It brought up a really interesting point. How do things catch on through the internet? How do the spread of one person’s ideas flow from one person to the next? Music? Opinions? Beliefs? Cultural habits?

My first thought would be a floating virus that outreaches to everyone on the internet! Even though this probably wouldn’t sit well with the one billion other users. From the evolutionary theorist Richard Dawkins put the term in his words, meme. I was still confused at this point in the book so I did what every other confused person would do, GOOGLE IT!

I used an example of one percenters, The Wikipedia definition reads, “A meme (pronounced /miːm/)[1] consists of any idea or behavior that can pass from one person to another by learning or imitation. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, gestures, practices, fashions, habits, songs, and dances.

Memes propagate themselves and can move through the cultural sociosphere in a manner similar to the contagious behavior of a virus.” Oh! Well now it makes sense. Well what a great social media tool! This is great for your average PR or marketing person, or someone with really good ideas.
I never realized how someone may view something, like it or dislike it. Then they save it and send it on to more people. Fantastic! Not that I will try and send a picture of myself out onto the web hoping people like it and I get famous. Joking. The point of the meme is Retention, it depends on how important the idea is to the host and how often it is repeated.

This is all great information on the memes. But my question after all of this is, why memes? I am pretty sure it is not a acronym. Wouldn’t something a little more self -explanatory be better? I didn’t even know what that meant till researching it. Maybe, I am just not very open-minded. Or maybe I am just thinking too much.

All I know is I don’t like the name. I think they should be called “ad bombs” wow. I think this gives the ignorant people of the world like myself a little bit more of a hint and able to relate it to social media tools. Bush, this was a bill garaunteed to pass and help our economy out a rut of a state it's in.

JOKES ON US!! Breaking News the BailoutBill has not passed. The Bill was suppose to be $700 billion dollars but after census reports this was proved false because taxpayers weren't informed that we would be recieving some money back! This is even more of a reason to do it.

The pricing of the bill is what America was mad about. Had it been advertise more clearly that all the taxpayers money wouldn't be taken maybe it wouldn't have been shot down so fast.Yet, that is probably just their bad PR and marketing Should have went to good ol' ONU! A total of 227 members in the house including both republicans and democrats voted no. I mean honestly who else is going to buy up all the bad mortgages and help our economy get strong again! NOT me! that is for sure.

I just don't understand the desicions made by the suites. Otterbein, "words of inspiration not disappointment."

This Saturday was indeed one of the hardest losses for the Ohio Northern Football team. Otterbein had a victory over the Polar Bears 37-7 at Dial-Roberson Stadium. The Bears are 0-2 in the OAC while still having a hunger out for Muskingum who they play next Saturday at 1:30 pm . Northern through the first half of the game were at 14-7 by intermission when quarterback Kyle Simmons completed a great pass to Curt Sheppard, ending the half with a string of confidence and a spoon full of hope. But Otterbein scored 23 points within the third and fourth period to take home the first Otterbein victory over ONU since 1989.
Even though the season hasn’t worked out the way the Bears have planned, they are still proud and anxious for the games that lay ahead. When speaking with Junior wide receiver, Justin Linzy, he had words of inspiration not disappointment for the fans and players that feel hopeless at this moment. “I am very confident that our group will bounce back. We are taking the approach that we are 0-0 this week and we must go 1-0 this upcoming week. We WILL be ready to play this Saturday.” This attitude is emphasized throughout the players of this team. They are not hurt by these losses but only made stronger at heart and in mind. The game this Saturday should be one heck of a game!
If you want more game stats from Ohio Northern or a schedule visit, http://www-new.onu.edu/athletics

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://prwithrp.blogspot.com/2008/09/onu-vs-otterbein.html' title='ONU Vs. Starting Monday and continuing the next 60 hours he was hung upside down. Blaine had been hanging from a rope about 45 feet above the ground. He ended with a leap to the ground on a live TV show called Dive of Death. When reading a article in The Economic Times about this "batman stunt", Blaine said shortly before the end of the stunt that it became easier over time and that his body got immune to the strange position. This just amazes me! The fact that he can physically sustain this stunt without internal damage just takes my breath away? The blood pressure to his brain should have made him pass out or something!? Is this magic? Or, simply a physically and psychologically trained body strategy?

Obama Vs. McCain, Different Opinions on Important Issues!

I am usually not very involved in politics. I haven't felt significant until researching the campaign of 2008. These issues are very important to not just you and me but to the unborn and the youth of today. Every thing from political issues, and diplomacy to taxes and Health care. On Reuters.com I found an article comparing the two candidates. Forgive me for repeating myself but politics is not my forte, considering this I guess you could consider me a independent.
So, while reading this article I found myself torn between the different issues just as they are. For example the war,"McCain was a prominent and ardent supporter of the decision to invade Iraq and vows to keep U.S. troops there until the war is won. He recently said 2013 was a reasonable date for achieving that goal and ending U.S. involvement.Obama, an Illinois senator, was an early opponent of the war who has promised to remove U.S. combat troops from Iraq within 16 months of taking office." In this situation I agree with Obama. I believe our troops have been there long enough!"The chasm is similar on taxes.
McCain supports extending President George W. Bush's cuts and cutting corporate tax rates, while Obama would let Bush's cuts expire for wealthy Americans -- those making more than $250,000 annually -- and raise capital gains tax rates, another item that normally affects primarily high-income earners. The chasm is similar on taxes. In this situation I agree with McCain,Corporate tax rates need to be cut still and taking away from the high income earners is a form of discrimination and not fair and would still be a problem because taxes will be raised regardless. I am a loss for words. I don't know how to view or handle my political in dependency. Who should I vote for? Anyone else have a hard time breaking this down?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://prwithrp.blogspot.com/2008/09/obama-vs-mccain-different-opinions-on.html' title='Obama Vs. This digital community is home to more than 100 million members. The Myspace craze gives you the your own identity and self expression. You can have any gadgets, colors, files, websites, ect. Almost anything you desire can be put on your site. Teenagers express there individuality and can have unsupervised meetings with friends. You can form social networks, hang out with friends, and expand your friends across the world! Although, this seems like a great way to keep social communication at it's strongest I feel that maybe online "life" has become a little to accessible to the this era. People start relationship over Myspace and have long distant relationships. People get use to the online communication, will this effect our personable face-to-face communication with others? Will the teens of this generation not be able to express themselves through personality in physical situations? I feel that the digital world creates an armor on our inter-selves that gives us extra courage to be more outgoing. With Myspace being the new place to "meet up" instead of public places like malls or the movies communication, I feel is being turned for the worst. There has to be a limit or a boundary on your everyday digital communication. There has to be a balance, which I have been practicing! Blogging is NOT my first hand communication. Don't misunderstand this for hypocrisy, I love the new technology of today but worry because we can not lose face-to-face interaction for the communicators of today and tomorrow.

And if you were wondering, I DO NOT have a Myspace!

Rivals Reunited...ONU vs. Mount Union

Football season, one of the most exciting sports seasons here in good ol' Ada. Ohio Northern Bears traveld to Alliance Ohio this Saturday to play rival Mount Union Raiders. It was a goregous day for football and a even better day to break a bad streak of loses. The Polar Bears beat the Raiders in 05'-06' Football season. As the leading team in the OAC, the Raiders could not let this happen again. ONU came out strong saturday night. With a goal on their mind they fought long and hard. It was almost half time and neither side had scored. We were holding them off with all our might and actually putting a dent in their unbeatable offense. With a minute to go the Raiders came bursting in with their first touch down of the night. Needless to say, from that point on we tried to hang on but Raider's offense tied up some loose strings in the second half of the football game. With a little time to spare quaterback Kyle Simmons launched a long ball to wide receiver Amidon who caught our first touchdown and put some color on our half of the careboard. Even though things might not have turned out as hoped the Bears gave a good fight.Final score ended up being 44-7. Although, beaten and tired the Polar Bears had their heads helled high and were not ashamed but proud for never giving up. Playing hard each and every single minute of the game. Never playing half-assed or defeated. Football is much more than winning at Ohio Northern, it is how we play the game and how we hold ourselves as a team. I am very proud to say I am a ONU Polar Bear and very proud of our football team. The season isn't even close to being over so goodluck Bears and show this league what playing football is all about!

First home game September 27th against Otterbein! I am part of the blogosphere!

I was very excited about taking social media with Alisa this year. I was excited to really research how social media outlets today really are the heart beat for the Public Relations world. I didn't know however how important this media is for marketers feedback and really some entire products existence. I knew before this class that this was a clever way to advertise your product but didn't really see the power in this online world. The convenience of social networking and response at literally my fingertips. This is truly a new and exciting experience for me. As Gillin states in the reading, "Despite the controversies, social networking sites have clearly created a new model for online self-expression and a new avenue for marketers to reach their customers. It's pretty wild scene at the moment but you can also get away with trying nearly anything(pg 32)." He is exactly right! The blogosphere, if I may, is an endless world of opportunity. For the everyday person who wants there voice to be heard or a agency to get the fastest feedback from there customers on their new product. This advancement in social media has much more power then I think anticipated.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://prwithrp.blogspot.com/2008/09/its-official-i-am-part-of-blogosphere.html' title='It's official! A day @ ONU!

At the beginning of fall quarter every year Mud volleyball is hosted at ONU. Anyone can play, you have to form a team of six. Either co-ed or female or male. The tournament starts Friday night for the men and Saturday morning for the women. If you don't know what mud volleyball is just think very messy, dirty, and not your traditional volley ball game. With mud past your ankles I might add. Myself, along with my fellow track runners Brittany, Joy, Dani, Joe, and Nick the Sexy Setters took the court! -Great name I know:)-So as the games began we are up seven to three. Then tide up for winning point, bump ,set, spike! Game point to the OPPOSITE team! We were defeated. My volleyball dreams were shattered all in the first ten minutes of this damp Saturday morning. Ha! In all seriousness, I do feel that one loss should not terminate you out of the tournament. For teams such as mine, we really didn't get a full fun experience. There should be some alternative like every team plays three games and best two out of three. This is just an idea. Does anyone else have an idea or opinion? Maybe seeing things from a losing stand point is making me a tad bit biased?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://prwithrp.blogspot.com/2008/09/mudd-volley-ball-day-onu.html' title='Mud VolleyBall! According to a study recently released by DoubleClick Performics, a search marketing company. The study found that 83 percent of Internet users spent an hour or more online a day, but only 68 percent devoted that much time to television. The Web has literally taken over the free time of this generation. The virtual world has become more time consuming than late night TV or Saturday night movies. I am guilty of this new pass time. I send much more time on the internet than I spend watching the television. Also considering the fact that isn't even school related majority of the time. I am obviously not the only student guilty of these actions. Although, Is this a negative thing for our generation? Will this help with the social communication of this era or take away from it? Is TV or internet worse?

Post a comment and let me know your opinion and view on this topic!

First Day of School

Two years down and the first day of my third year has arrived! In high school I would have imagined this day in a more surreal setting, not just another day. Although, this day is just another day. The only indescribable feeling I can own up to at this moment is a weary unknowing knowledge of how the rest of the year will fall. Because this feeling is mysterious it has a taste of excitement because the future of this year is still a story waiting to be written...
